Photographer's Note
Nan, Thailand
Innocence.
It is what set the children apart from adults. Their unadulterated and spontaneous expression are winsome, their smile, unpretentious.
She's a very beautiful Hmong girl. She has winning charms ands pure innocence in her face. She's very ahppy to be photographed. She didn't know how happy I was to photograph her. She's a gem among many gems.

The large area of blown out highlight on the left is very distracting. I'd burn it.
However, the subject & dof are great.

Hi Manny, I think this is a very nice shot, but not really on a par with your best. I don't care for the blown out background, on this shot it competes with your model. The composition and DOF is excellent, but it looks slightly soft to me as well. Is it possible you caught her shoulder in focus and not her face? I think it appears like that to me. Still another very appealing shot from you Manny.

Pour obtenir de telles photographies de portrait, il faut qu'il y ait communication entre les êtres, il faut de l'amour et de l'émotion. L'émotion passe ici et c'est très beau.
Très bien fait Manny.
To obtain such photographs of portrait, it is needed has communication between the beings there, one needs of love and of emotion. The emotion passes and c'est here very beautiful. Very well done Manny.

Another beautiful portrait in your catalog, Manny. Great eyes and smile, and fine placement of your sympathetic subject. Maybe the background could be a little less bright but sometimes you just have to take what you get. The shot really succeeds in conveying the qualities and the sentiment you are writing about in your note. Very well done.

A lovely child you got here again. The overexposed part is very distracting. Anyway this is a beautiful shot with a great DOF... not your best shot.

Superb portrait, much of spontaneity in the expression of this adorable small girl. It is a pity just a little which the ground too clear diverts us a little of the principal subject.
Beautiful portrait.

I don't think that the overexposed white area is too distacting, maybe it even highlights the color of her face. The face are very well exposed and sharp, and still - soft. another ine excellent shot, Manny.
