Hill Tribe Mother, a photo from Chian Rai, North

Photographer's Note

This is a mother and child from the Acar tribe. They live in the mountains of northern Thailand and in Laos. They are descended from Tibetan peoples who migrated there centuries ago. The grow crops on the high slopes and sell jewelry etc to live. traditionally, of course, they grew opium poppies, but that has all gone now. They have their own language and their own very strong culture.

Hi Kevin nice image of mother and child. I saw some of these ladies wearing traditional clothes in Bangkok and even on Phuket island. I like your double portrait.

Beautiful portrait you have here. The boy is very well fascinated by the camera while the mother is following something else. Both facial expressions are excellent and the DOF and colours are superb. Well done.

They both have beautiful expression on their face. The woman is so mcuh in what she is doing, the boy so much in what you are doing. Nice traditional costume. Great catch.

I am a little lost...
I discover the same scenary , but post at 2 different date...
I feel confuse...Is this one is better than the previous or not...I don't know..They have both a different way of reading.

That child looks very intent on what you're doing with that camera, Kevin. That contrasts well with Mom who is clearly busy interacting with someone else. Nice how the faces are so sharp but the hand is blurred. It must have been a fascinating place to visit. Regards, Ken.
