Photographer's Note

One of the most impressive structures in Uzbekistanís capital, Tashkent, is the towering TV tower. However, it is hard to take a photograph of this without it looking like a lonely needle stuck in the middle of the frame, so I drove around the area looking for something to provide some foreground interest. I found this park just off one of the main roads with this interesting Islamic looking dome structure, but even then the picture didnít look balanced with the tower on one side. Then I spotted a tree in blossom, so I took this shot from a position which enabled me to frame the two structures with the tree on the other side to provide some balance (that wasnít as easy as it looked as there as a fence in the way and I had to engage in some contortions to achieve this POV). As this was taken at twilight, I illuminated the tree with flash as it was too dark without it.

PP: Used the PS transform/perspective tool to correct a lean on the tower (due to this being taken with a wide angle lens), cropped, minor adjustments to levels, contrast and saturation, filtered with NeatImage to remove noise, then USM.
