Photographer's Note

The cruise in Halong Bay offers plenty of majestic sceneries and historic landmarks. The distinctive rock formation that fills the watery bay is so unique that it has be categorised as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

My guide explained to me that Halong actually means descending dragon in Veitnamese and long ago when Vietnam was defending against the invasion from China, the Gods from above sent a dragon down to help it's people.

A Vietnamese junk boat cruise is the most popular way to experience the beauty of Halong Bay. To get there, you can take a flight to Hanoi and then a transfer to Halong town. At the same time you can experience the delicacy of Vietnamese cuisine while taking an idylic cruise around the bay.

The splendid scenery offers unlimited phototaking opportunites for avid photographers too. The vintage junk boats provide an interesting subject to the beautiful backdrop.
