Photographer's Note

This is a delightful part of Hanoi old quarter - it was like stepping back in time that I really loved what's presented before my eyes depicting a typical day to day life in the street which I imagine is really very hard. She's one of many extremely hard-working street vendors who are an indispensable part of urban life who roam the streets with two baskets in the shoulder, selling all kinds of goods that buyers need. They served the most food, fruits, flowers and domestic products, etc etc

She provided a unique perspective on the lives of women, and

constantly on the move and looked so focus in what she's doing without paying much attention to my lens.

Apart from the signs of the modern bikes, this could have been a scene captured decades ago! It is full of atmosphere.
The darkness of the street and the relatively shallow dof gives a real sense of place , whilst the sharpness is right on the street seller.

This is the scene we imagined Vietnam 50 or 60 years ago, hat, baskets and surroundings have not changed, only motorcycles are new

An excellent photo of this street, captured from a good viewpoint, which makes curious what is found further down the street on the right. Good inclusion of the lady carrying to two large baskets in the foreground and I like the warm yellowish tones of the houses in the soft light.

This is a truly timeless image, even with the red bike in the background. With all the influences coming from other lands it's as if the time has stopped here and the way of life has been almost unchanged for centuries. Generations come and go and they repeat the same rituals, follow the same path of daily chores.
