Photographer's Note

Meeting of the past and present in a street in Hanoi;

Street vendors and the iconic French architecture, Hanoi Opera House built in 1901, a historic building and the centerpiece of Hanoi’s former French Quarter. Built by two French architects, this renaissance-style building was modeled on the Opera Palais Garnier in Paris.

Today the opera house remains active, hosting many of the most respected singers and dancers from both Vietnam and abroad.

Setting: 35 mm, 1/80 sec, F8, ISO Raw 200, 1451 hrs

Hello Abmdsudi,

This is a very beautiful, French colonial building, not what you would expect to see in Hanoi unless you understood about colonial influences.
You angled composition works very well, attention flowing naturally from right to left.
Your w/s are very interesting additions, revealing some close-up details, not possible to study o the main photograph.

An excellent photo of the beautiful, grand architecture of this large building. The details looks very nice and appealing and you captured them with good sharpness. Also the pale yellow colours are pleasant and make a good contrast with the darker tones of the trees in the foreground.

Hi Abmdsudi
When I was there there were a couple of wedding groups having photos taken in front of the grand opera house. Excellent detail and sharpness.
