Photographer's Note
This will be the first of many photos from my trip to Cuba.
The country and people touched me in so many way, it would be hard for me to put it into words. Thank goodness I brought my camera.
Traveling in Cuba is very much like taking a time machine to the 1950s. Evidence of the trade embargo can be seen in everyday life. The streets are still filled with classic Cadillacs and beat up Ladas. People still dry their clothing on lines and people chat on their porch rather than through their computers.
I tried to document the daily life of Cubans as best I could with my street photography. Hopefully you all enjoy these photos.

Hi Mark, nice picture, maybe a bit overexpossed, but it suits the image, the woman seems to be dancing instead of doing the laundry. Nice notes, Cuba is amazing indeed, and people are outstanding. Thanxs for sharing, chau chau,
Maria

Hi Mark,
I love the light streaming through the tall doorways and bringing to life the interior with its fine old details. Great POV and the lady and her laundry make for a wonderful daily life image and gives a good sense of the height of the archways.

Hi Mark,
the light and dust streaming in from the outside create a wonderful mood. You did capture that very well. Even the wind blowing through the archways can be seen as the laundry isn't hanging down straightly. Your POV is superb, it gives a wonderful overview of the grandeur of those cuban archways and let us have a glimpse at the cuban daily life.
Thanks for sharing you great work with us.
kind regards,
Laura

beautifull photo Mark, I love Cuba myself, the poeple are just so special.
She reminds me of butterly in the wind, very poetic capture.
Looking forward to seeing your captures from that place.

Hello Mark
Travelling in my mind to Cuba, through your photograph and reading the note,I think that`s their own life style, their trademark, colorful streets, etc.
And,yes, she and her laundry looks like they have a dance by their own.
I do like quiet a lot your street photography.A very good shot of a cuban daily life.
My kind regards

Absolutely great one , even if the white areas are a bit overexposed. But that´s the contrast as it was..

Bonjour Mark,
Un point de vue interessant montrant à la fois le mouvement et l'immobilisme. Le mouvement dans cette danse avec le linge et l'immobilisme dans cette architecture laissée aux outrages du temps
A bientôt
