Rainbow over the mountain, a photo from Barahona, West

Happy New Year to all my TE friends.

I spend with my family and friends the new year holidays in the mountains of Polo, Barahona.
Late in the afternoon we were sitting in the terrace with the mountain view and all of the sudden stopped raining and the sun came out and produced this glorious rainbow, few times I've seen one that was so neat and that you could define the colors.
You can see in my WS that there were two rainbows at the same time but one of them didn't showed doing the complete arch. As you can see the area of rain was passing by and the clear and cold sunny day came back.

Such a perfect rainbow must have a jar with gold on the end. Anyway this picture earns a golden reward. Good composition, beautiful light, great colours. This must be (the lost) paradise.

What a lucky moment you got here not only to see it but also to have your camera disposable. The placement of the rainbow is extremely well. Any less experienced hand would have taken the whole bow into the frame. But with this partial inclusion you build up an interesting tension.

I'm never in the right place at the right time to catch a rainbow. What luck to be just sitting there with your camera available. You had an incredible view from your terrace and you captured the rainbow perfectly with enough of the mountains included below. I particularly like the inclusion of the flowers in the right corner.

Has captado con maestría el efecto del arco iris después de la lluvia, y cuando el cielo ya se abre para dejar pasar los rayos del sol, y todo con una luz de la tarde muy suave y agradable, con bellos colores naturales y un gran encuadre utilizando la diagonal de las colinas para separar el gran contraste entre cielo y tierra.

The clarity of this photo is simply stunning. The cloudscape is as beautiful as the landscape and the rainbow just adds a touch of magic and almost fantasy to this beautiful photo. The little red flowers on the right are so wonderful and give the photo a fun splash.

Que mejor entrada al año qu esta foto. El arco iris es maravilloso lastima que en Barcelona no haga mucho presencia. Los colores estan muy captados y con buena profundidad de campo.

Hola Emile, Color y luz fenomenales, no se tiene a menudo mucho tiempo para obtener el arco iris completo, fue necesario reflejos y rapidez.

Nikon d200... un bonito juguete.
Los arcoiris son siempre muy vistosos. No en vano no deja de ser un "extraño" fenómeno de la naturaleza. Y la naturaleza siempre está llena de sorpresas que si bien se nos pueden escapar de nuestro entedimiento, siempre nos fascinan.

Faltando una luz o un cielo más vivo, puede que una exposición más corta diera más intensidad a la foto.

Hola Emile, rainbows are allways fascinating, aren't they? Especially if they are so neat as this one. I also got a picture of one sometime ago and it was kind of magic. I love the range of colors on the sky from grey on the upper corner to blue and white on the bottom left corner. The green landscape is very pleasant to ones eyes, which is also seen in the extra image in ws. Well done and tfs.

Mi intuición me ha dicho que Carmo iría procurar arco-iris para su nuevo tema. :-) No me engañé!
Es el más espectacular delos cuatro que hay asta ahora en el tema. Lo arco interior encuadra la especie de abertura en el cielo y el pedazo del otro es muy interesante. Las flores rojas en elcanto son un buen bono. Una foto magnifica!
