Photographer's Note

The city of Innsbruck (574 m) spread out like an aerial map far below the summit of Hafelekarspitze (2,334 m), is easily reached by cable car. In the distance are snow capped mountains, even in August! The wooden structure part way down the hill is an avalanche breaker. Innsbruck is the capital of Tyrol, and on the junction of the rivers Inn & Wipp, tributaries of the Danube.

Chris, the summit offers a breathtaking panorama of Innsbruck. A river is crossing the urban area. The city is located in a valley encircled by forests and mountains. Gorgeous landscape. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Chris,
It's quite amazing to get such a good view of an entire fairly large city. It's almost like looking at Google Earth. Surprisingly good sharpness for such a wide and distant view.

A great bird's eye view of the city and the mountains in the background as well. I like how the river is seen like a snake in the middle. Also the clouds provide a nice backdrop.

It's quite a long time since I visited Innsbruck. A classic city on a wonderful mountain landscape. Curve of the river Inn is well visible on this wide angle view.

What an amazingly, vast view you have been able to grab from this elevated position. It looks like an aerial view from a plane!
The city of Innsbruck can be seen and how it fits so snuggly into the landscape. Ans how amazing to be able to look down onto clouds, which make their own horizontal layer!

Hi Chris,
Innsbruck has a fantastic location indeed.
You have well captured its amazing setting in the relatively narrow valley between the high mountains on both sides.
I don't have many photos from this area in my gallery although I was a frequent guest there.
HERE is my picture showing the town below.

I like very much the curve made by the river which also has a photogenic green color.

A higher elevation picture down to the valley where this town was built on both sides of the river, green forest all around and the sight is sharp and beautiful, Chris.
Good scale looking forward to the far side ridges and clouds above.
