Photographer's Note
Welcome to the secession palace in Vienna. The building's roof is covered with this golden globe made of golden color leaves. the impression is awesome and quite pretty!
This distinctive Secession building was designed and built by Josef Maria Olbrich in 1898 as a home for the Association of Visual Artists Vienna Secession. The Association, which included Gustav Klimt within its membership were pioneers of Jugendstil/Art Nouveau and their legacy, albeit through the exhibition of frequently challenging contemporary artworks continues today.
Amazingly, the building (which was virtually destroyed in World War II after being bombed and set on fire by the retreating German army) has been restored to its former glory. Arguably one of the most beautiful buildings in the city (and a must visit for the architecture alone) art exhibitions are held here throughout the year.

Eric: weirding out on a little geometry are you? Unlike the non-commentors, I find your experiments a success. Looking for more change... regards, c

"Der Zeit ihre Kunst - der Kunst ihre Freiheit."--I remember this was written somewhere... I love Secession. I wrote my thesis on Schiele's self-portraits and loved walking about in Vienna... felt at home in it. This is a nice abstract graphic treatment of a part of the Secession building. Did you like it there? I see you went there a while ago...
ciao
