A stroll through Bruges

Statue of Papageno before the entrance of Theater
Almost never can I take a picture so quiet on Saturday, no cars or other carriages.

Emanuel Schikaneder as the first Papageno.
Papageno is a character that occurs in the vaudeville Die Zauberflöte from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to the libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder.

Papageno is a bird catcher and holds the comic role in the opera. He is a bit scared and not too clever, and with that the opposite of the heroic main character Tamino. He has a good heart and is rewarded for this: he eventually finds the girl of his dreams, Papagena. Their mutual declaration of love is known in the duet Pa-Pa-Pa-Pa-Pa-Pa-Papagena!

I hope that you enjoy it
