Located on the commune of Mehagne this place is called carmel I have to find this nonoriginal and very pretty just like that of the street of the same name or is the building, SMALL HISTORY the Carmelite nuns are installed on the plate of Mehagne since 1933 but, before, their house was in Potay in Liege and this, since 1627.
Put aside the difficulties generated by the French revolution where all their goods were confiscated by the State, they knew peace until 1912 there. At that time, the community of Potay is committed in a length and difficult lawsuit of succession which it will not leave victorious. Indeed, in 1930, the s?urs will be expelled of the convent. After a short passage to Theux, the time of the construction of their convent, they settle in Mehagne. On a ground given by the Dessain family, the Lecomte architect, professor with Saint-Luc in Liege, draw up the plans of the new building. The first mass is celebrated there on July 19, 1933. " large plan on the entry "

This new carmel is located vis-a-vis at the hill of Chèvremont where live the exposed Carmelite friars, brothers of the Carmélites nuns.
The vault of the Carmelite nuns will be used as place of worship to the inhabitants of the plate until the creation of the parish of the Virgin of the Poor integrated into the school buildings. This one goes up at 1957 when Mgr Kerkhofs, bishop of Liege, decide to ensure a permanent religious service in the district of Mehagne whose allotment causes a very significant increase in population. The request is introduced near the government on August 22, 1958 and it is on November 28, 1960 that a royal decree recognizes it officially. Since October 4, 1986, the vault is increased and set up under church.
