Another picture of the canals serie of Damme Belgium, but now a visibility just for the turning
At the fall of Napoleon the new canal to in Hoeke has been realised. Under the government of Willem I one puts these work further. In 1818, boat connection between Brugge and Sluis Netherlands is opened.
As water, gone the canal Brugge-Sluis however never got a large meaning
The passenger connection between Bruges and Sluis, with several landing stages underway, formed in the past the most important movement at water.

Bij de val van Napoleon is het nieuwe kanaal tot in Hoeke gerealiseerd. Onder de regering van Willem I zet men deze werken verder. In 1818 wordt de vaarverbinding tussen Brugge en Sluis opengesteld. Als waterweg kreeg het kanaal Brugge-Sluis echter nooit een grote betekenis. De passagiersverbinding tussen Brugge en Sluis, met diverse aanlegplaatsen onderweg, vormde eertijds het belangrijkste verkeer te water.

I like the tones, compostion...good choise with the river on diagonale with a bit of curve cause it gives strenght to the photo; I also like the frame it seems with a post card but I wonder how it looked if you didn`t cut the trees with their reflection into the water, from the left.

More than beautiful, John... This is how I love Autumn. The light of the end of the day (I suppose it was) nicely enhances the colors of the trees ; the more difficult point is to be there at the right moment !

I am not going to tell you why I liked it :) If I were there at the very spot you shoot this, I would push you John into the river :) Kidding my dear friend. This photo would be a classic if not for the cables and electric poles. Just look at the trees and its reflection, in the almost still water.

Ik ben eerlijk John. Dat weet U als geen ander. deze vind ik beter dan U vorige foto, Uw 80 punter, maar dat is een questie van smaak denk ik. Deze heeft echt alles. De curl die hij maakt, de kleuren, goed licht,mooie reflectie, wauw John. Uitstekende hoek.. Erg goed werk John.

John, you're making me jealous with one wonderful image after another of the canals! This is really great with the bend that you have captured in addition to the usual wonderful perspective and crispness, great lighting and colors and the wonderful rows of trees. The reflection is so soft and tranquil here, really wonderful in the way it so gently softens the real scene.

Superb composition, and splendid dyed gilded this light of autumn.
I like this remote fog which attenuates the background slightly, and scene calms it well underlined by the reflections drawn well in the water of the channel.

Ook deze is weer erg mooi!! Ik moet zeggen dat in veel van u foto's toch die stilte nog is terug te vinden... Zo te zien heeft u de jaren 50 en 60 ook bewust meegemaakt... dat moet een prachtige ervaring zijn geweest...
