The Schellemolen in Damme

Description
The Schellemolen is a stone windmill in Damme, Belgium. The white-painted mountain mill dates from 1867 and replaced an earlier post mill. A mill has been located here along the Damse Vaart since 1479. The mill is equipped with two stone couples and an oil butcher shop in the basement.

Hello John,
In case this is one of the most photographed mills in the region it is understandable why. It is a very elegant building and it is located in a place where it creates beautiful reflections in the canal. The surroundings are also picturesque. That day you had perfect photo conditions. The light was very good and there were just a few very light clouds that provided a fine background.

Hallo John,
Hoogstwaarschijnlijk is dit inderdaad de meest gefotografeerde windmolen van Vlaanderen.
Toch verraste je foto me een beetje. Ik herkende zijn naam wel maar niet de directe omgeving.
De weerspiegeling werd mooi opgemerkt in de opening tussen het riet. De kleuren (van het riet op de voorgrond, de vaart en de lucht) ogen bijzonder mooi.
De prachtige lijnen in de lucht zorgen voor een schitterende achtergrond.

Hallo John, we can find two main symbols of Flanders landscape in that photo. The wind mill is reflecting in that canal water. Nice view of this polder area. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Een prachtige foto van deze witte molen met de rode wieken. Goede compositie doordat de molen net iets aan de linkerkant is geplaatst. Ook de spiegeling is heel mooi in helder en het midden wordt mooi omgeven door groene tinten.

Oh, I wish the weather had been like this when we visited Kinderdijk!

You had lovely, bright weather to photograph this characteristic Flanders windmill! It is very well positioned so that it stands proud against the sky and has its mirror image in the water of the canal.
I love how you have balanced the f/g grasses with the trees in the opposing corner.

Een prachtig voorbeeld van een beltmolen waarop we goed de belt kunnen zien waarop de korenmolen is gebouwd.
Een schitterende spiegeling en het riet links voor staat op de juiste plaats om de foto diepte te geven.
Hopelijk keer de blauwe lucht ook weer terug na al die regendagen.

no surprise that this mill is very often photographed! This is such a picturesque spot!
I like very much your composition with the perfect reflection in the smooth surface of the water in the foreground. It is nicely framed with some vegetation which decorates the scene so well.
Brilliant colors, so well saturated and eye catching.
The sky was pretty too with nice cloud pattern.

Wonderful composition, in which the beautiful mill captures all our attention at first, then we analyze the charm of the canal, the little houses next to groups of trees and the precious reflection of the mill and the charming little houses
I have been absent for a while, due to a problem with my internet connection, now everything is fine and we return to TE.
Very nice color, which together with good sharpness and optimal lighting, gives great quality to the image.
