Photographer's Note

I have already shared with you my picture of this wonderful example of the Byzantine style: Hercegovačka Gračanica, a Serbian Orthodox church in Trebinje. Here a glimpse into its magnificent interior.

Hercegovačka Gračanica is a faithful copy of the church in the monastery of Gracanica in Kosovo and Metohija, an endowment of King Milutin (1282-1321). It was built in 2000 on the hill above Trebinje, with the desire to fulfill the testament of the Serbian poet Jovan Ducic, a native of Trebinje. His remains were transferred from the United States and buried in the crypt of the monastery church. The memorial complex consists of the church of the Holy Mother with a bell tower, bishop's palace, a library, an amphitheater, a gallery, banquet hall, fountain and Jacuzzi.
The temple can be seen from any point in Trebinje because it is located on a hill which overlooks the entire city.

Good evening Mariusz,
Marvelous view upwards to the decorated ceiling. It is rich with golden elements and religious themes painted. Combination of blue and gold always works well on photo's.
Fine taken picture, the chandelier is beautifully added.

Hi Mariusz,

Yes, "magnificent" is definitely the word to describe this wonderful interior and you have captured it perfectly in this beautiful shot. I can just imagine you lying flat on your back taking this one!

I love the almost perfectly symmetrical composition and you have managed to achieve this very well indeed. If you'd tried for a perfectly symmetrical view, then the big chandelier would have obscured the image of Christ high up in the dome - so well done!

The light and colours here are just wonderful, your exposure perfect and the details and sharpness exquisite.

Aujourd'hui, ma photo sur la Seine en N/B ( pour une des fois que je met en N/B, c'est louper :-) ) a été supprimer! pas reçu de émail, pas de réponse au forum, pas de repose de Viviane .....je ne sais pas le pourquoi ?

Cześć Mariusz,
Piekne sklepienie kopuły tej staro-nowej cerkwi. Super symetria, kolory i ostrość. Bardzo lubię cerkwie prawosławne, jest w nich wspaniały nastrój, zwykle dość mroczno i dużo świec. Ty pewnie nie miałeś zbyt wiele okazji ich zwiedzania, ja się napatrzyłam w Rosji, Rumunii, Gruzji.
Ten artykuł w Wikipedii jest również po polsku, więc nie musiałeś zatrudniać Googla do tłumaczenia. Nie wiem dlaczego to jest "iconic", pewnie malo kro o tym słyszał. Klasztor Gracanica jest na liście Unesco, ale nie ten, tylko w Kosowie.

Dobar rad, kontrast i ostrina, lepo pokazan enterijer i detalji.
Lep enterijer i detalji Pravoslavne Crkve.
Srednjovekovni Srpski vladali pravili su svoje zaduzbine, pa je zato ostao veliki broj Manastira i Crkava neprocenjljive istoriske i kulturne vrednosti.

I'm glad you made the effort to get to this part of Bosnia. The far south is a rewarding destination and less touristed than Mostar. A fine upward pov of the cathedral interior with fantastic colour and sharpness. Tfs!

Wow this is such a beautiful interior. You got the light just right and managed to exalt the blue colours so subtly and naturally. Impressive sharpness, although there seems to have been a slight natural vignetting with the barrel distortion. Some people like that, I would have fixed it in Photoshop, but it's a matter of personal taste. Excellent photo any way you look at it.

the art is magnificent and it's amazing how well-defined the colours and the details look in your picture. You dealt with the intervention of the chandellier in a remarkable way, it's very clear and interesting too but it doesn't obstract the view of the frescoes and the balance of the architectural lines.
