Photographer's Note

Trogir is one of the most charming cities in the Dalmatian region and an example of coexistence among tourists, hanging clothes and stone with history. The town was declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1997. This small island stronghold of orthogonal plant runs in one breath is one of the Romanesque-Gothic complex best preserved in the Adriatic and the whole central Europe. In a span of land churches and Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque palaces happen.

In medieval times, it was protected by the Kamerlengo fortress on the west end. The strength of Venetian origin remains in place, but is unable to repel the siege of the hordes of tourists every summer invade the island.

An unmissable event is the magnificent Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the mouth of the narrow roads. The Romanesque portal was carved in 1240 with the dedication of a nineteenth-century narrative novelist by the great master Radovan. There are two large sculptures of naked as Adam and Eve in Eden caused to be plugged to the fourteenth century. In the same square of the old cathedral Cipiko palace in Venetian Gothic style, and the loggia surmounted by a belfry of 1471, which served as a court, in addition to provisional prison and auditorium, and in the cities rise the Italian Renaissance.

Trogir es una de las ciudades mas encantadoras de la region Dálmata y un ejemplo de convivencia entre turistas, ropa tendida y piedra con historia. La villa fue declarada patrimonio de la humanidad por la Unesco en 1997. Este pequeño reducto isleño de planta ortogonal que se recorre en un suspiro es uno de los complejos románico-góticos mejor conservados del Adriático y de toda Europa central. En un palmo de terreno se suceden las iglesias y los palacios románicos, góticos, renacentistas y barrocos.

En época medieval, estaba protegida por la fortaleza de Kamerlengo en el extremo oeste. La fortaleza de origen veneciano sigue en su sitio, pero es incapaz de repeler el asedio de las hordas de turistas que verano tras verano invaden la isla.

Una cita ineludible es la esplendorosa catedral de San Lorenzo, donde desemboca el laberinto de callejuelas. El pórtico románico fue tallado en el año 1240 con el esmero narrativo de un novelista decimonónico por el gran maestro Radovan. Se trata de dos esculturas de gran tamaño de Adán y Eva semidesnudos como en el Edén provocaron que se tapara hasta el siglo XIV. En la misma plaza de la catedral se levantan el viejo palacio Cipiko, de estilo gótico veneciano, y la logia rematada por un campanario de 1471, que hacía las veces de tribunal, además de cárcel provisional y de sala de espectáculos, como en las ciudades del Renacimiento italiano.

acá tenemos su tema preferido. me gusta mucho el estilo de la arquitectura de estas ventana y balcón, los detalles a su redor me parecen muy hermosos y interesantes. bien hecho. GPC.

Sometimes it pays to look deeper as well as ahead of you as a photographer - you have great eyes!!

I like this superb enclosed capture from this picturesque & colourful little corner because to me it portrays all that is attractive about the old town architecture - gritty stone walls and wooden shutters that could no doubt tell us a tale or two. I can sense - reading your narrative - that there's feel of wonderful atmosphere about this quite place, but it's the contrast between tranquility and handsome colours that really caught my eye. A fantastic point of view and very well captured, wonderful picture! Congrats

Hola Luis,
With the loundry, pinting and the nicely designed balcony, came out as a beautiful spot in town for a picture.
Fine clear details, mingling colors in good texture, and light was well managed.

Il y a beaucoup de choses à voir dans ce beau cadrage vertical.On passe du lige qui sèche à l'air libre au beau balcon fleuri au niveau supérieur. Une belle étude de texture de la pierre.

It really seems like a beautiful town. I am really impressed by how much you have managed to see in Croatia -from the north to the south.
I would need two trips to do it all.
Very charming corner well spotted here. Nice architectural motifs decorated by the "washing day".
