Plitvicka Waterfalls, a photo from Licko-Senjska, Coast

Waterfalls at Plitvicka Jezera National Park in Croatia. For information about the park visit this link. There is a popular viewing area near where I took this shot, but the angle is off to the side. To get to this vantagepoint directly facing these waterfalls, I had to bushwack down a slope and downclimb a sketchy cliff. With lucky timing, clouds covered the sun and I was able to take some longer exposures to get the soft waterfall effect.

firstly, welcome to TE. secondly, I love your website. most importantly, this is a great shot! the relative peace above is a good contrast to the activity below, & the long line of visitors adds scale. of course, I firmly believe in bushwacking to get better photos.

Many, many years ago I visited the Plitvicka Lakes and that was amazing and your picture is very real, it's just as it is, you've captured this in a fine way, the nice green and blue waters and the many waterfalls everywhere, a fantastic park it is and so is your picture, Jack !

I agree: This is the best photo I've ever found of Plitvicka National Park. I also visited there many years ago, and it remains one of my all-time favorite amazing places. You have captured the beautiful greenery, dramatic setting, and the color & movement of the water perfectly!

Wow! This is the best shot I've seen on TE of this amazing place. And you have captured it with a camera that is sitting in the corner of my study unused today. This is a World Heritage Site, so I have added it to the Theme of the same name.

I've seen a lot of prtty poor photos from this location, often with notes telling us what a fantastic area it is and - AT LONG LAST - we can see it for ourselves with this fantastic vision. Brilliant!

Apart from the beautiful falls - and your great perspective and exposure - the photo also shows me that this is a very popular place. I wouldn't last five minutes on that boardwalk before I was screaming "get me out of here!!"
