Freedom square (Trg slobode in Croatian) is the link between the main square (Dr. Ante Starčević square) and Croatian Republic street. There are four monuments on the Square erected in memory of important cultural activities. It is a monument, a statue of Franjo Kreěma who became famous as a violinist, composer and concert master of the then Berlin Philharmonic. The second monument was erected in memory of Dr. Franjo Tudjman, the first Croatian president. The third monument was built for all Croatian veterans, civilians and victims of the Homeland War. The fourth monument is the most famous, and it is a statue of the Croatian writer, translator and publicist August Cesarac, popularly called "Walker". In addition to the monument, there is also a Supermarket on the Square, a famous department store from the 1970s.
