Photographer's Note

I could talk about the splendid trams of Prague that bring so much character to this stunning city, but I would rather mention a word about the café in the backdrop...

The Grand Café Slavia, located in the historical centre of Prague, across from the National Theatre, is a place not to be missed. Opened in 1881, it became a meeting place for artists and intellectuals. The remarkable Functionalist interior is punctuated with Art Déco details and wall decorations.

We have been there two or three times, for their good breakfast, but most of all, for their delicious hot chocolate, similar in creamy density and rich taste as the best hot chocolates I had in Europe: the one from Angelina Tea Room, rue de Rivoli in Paris, and San Gines in Madrid, into which you dunk a churros... it's like drinking a melted chocolate bar... Hmmmm!!!

Hello Andre,
This is a very nice photo of these classic streetcars. The POV is superb, allowing the viewer to get a good feel for the vehicles with the intricate details of the buildings as a very fitting backdrop.

Tu as visiblement gardé un souvenir ému de ce café. Je me contenterai d'admirer ce tram d'un autre âge passant devant.
