Photographer's Note
This is the entrance door to the Terezin (Theriesenstadt) concentration camp in Terezin, Czech Republic. Administrative/admissions offices are to the left; the main camp is through the arch.

Terezin is a really impressive museum - very well done, quiet, contemplative. Nice capture of the gate here; obviously reconstructed carefully, but without losing the hopeless, depressing emotion a place such as this should have. Nice capture.

Hi Roger,
thanks for your kind words on my historical picture. I see that you too have visited places of historical importance, here you show the Gestapo prison part of Theresienstadt ("Kleine Festung") . Your picture conveys an eerie atmosphere indeed!
As you know the former military Garnison was used by the Nazis as a concentration camp for an abominable purpose: to pretend that Jews were simply relocated to a new home, Theresienstadt ("Der Führer baut den Juden eine Stadt").
Best regards Dietrich
