Photographer's Note
Something completely different
Today I present something completly different, totally new for me, an animal in one of my pictures. Indeed, not something I normally upload, but today I do. :-)
I found this little crab on the pier in Dragør. Other pictures from this little village not far from Copenhagen can be found here:
Harbour in Dragør
Dragør Havn.
The crab (Dutch, krab, Danish, krabbe) belongs to the group of crustaceans and lives never far from water. There are about 4,500 species of crabs.
Not so much to say about this picture, for further information about the crab, can I refer to Wikipedia.
I hope you like this little novelty in my gallery. :-D

Hi Lars, It is something totally different. You did an excellent job to capture this creature a close range and show the details. I attempted to try to take some similar picture before, each time. I have to chase the crab because they tried to hide from human beings all the time in the wild. I was not able to get anyone close to the quality as you have here. Nice DoF and excellent details. Well done.

Hej Lars,
I love it! Once in a while it is very refreshing to show something completely diferent. Well done!
The image of the scrab is very clear and well composed, with nice shades on its 'skin'. I like its shape from this POV and the background works well. Poor 'guy' - 'he' must really scared!

Hej Lars!
Nice capture here. I share the experience of other poster regarding my "crab photos". They start moving fast as soon as I get close and end up with OoF and motion blurred photos.
(Mmm... maybe they fear that I would eat them?)
Hilsner, saludos,
Carlos

Good macro shot Lars; you have captured such sharp detail; even the little hairs on its claws. The background is almost camouflage.

Hi Lars
This is a very different shot for you. I like it a lot, you've got in close and kept sharp focus so we can see lots of the anatomical detail on this crab.

Hi Lars. That's great focus and clarity. With this POV we can appreciate its scariness in its entirety. Thanks for sticking your neck out and trying something different Lars!

Hi Lars, probably a difficult shot and the result is very nice, in addition to color and details there's also texture, with a bit of imagination I also see a "face" with an expression! Well done and regards, Daniel

Hallo Lars,
When I saw this lovely image and perfect picture of these crab I immediately decided to make a workshop. This time I didn’t use Paint Shop Pro but my old Minolta Z3 camera.

Hi Lars,
Goed gedaan, prettig weekend gewenst!
John.

Hi Lars
A good natural history study with nice detail. The shadow of the crab works well to and gives some depth to the image. You have picked up nice details on the shell too. Well done.

Groeten,
Stef

What can I say : a very nice crab, but this is not a "crabe" in French, this looks like an "étrille" (a kind of swimming crab, as can be seen with the flat rear legs with barbs on the sides). Mostly used in soups rather as an ordinary dish, since there is nt much to eat on them...
All the best,
Emmanuel
