How to avoid a selfie II, a photo from Western Finland, South

Photographer's Note

Finlayson Art Area is an annual event presenting statues, offering free gallery visits and various performances. One of the artists this summer is Janne Rahunen with his series of sculptures called "Fancy Garden" made of silver-plated glass.

Ciao Kari,beautiful ideas to exploit these works of modern art by creating magical reflections. I think in the main photo you used the tripod and the timer, a really good idea not to appear in the photo, while in the WS I see you very well! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Kari,
These sculptures are eye-catching. I like the shapes and the color, and the slightly-blurred couple in the background is nice, too. You perfectly managed to avoid a selfie in the main shot, but we do see the glass sculptures repeating inside the one next to it, and that's an interesting detail. Take care!

Shining with blue and green reflection of the surrounding area, this silver plated sculpture is well made with its materials, added wonderful texture in contrast to the houses around, Kari.

Hello Kari,
A well taken photo of perfectly polished pieces of art creating fine reflections. The effect of seeing them without your own reflection is slightly surrealistic, which makes the photo so much better. I like the shapes and colours of the sculptures and the inclusion of two persons in the background. They add perspective and life and and you timed the photo well before they would have disturbed the view of the sculptures.

haha, funny and clever guy...using the tripod and timer to escape the selfie :) I like that you got the people in the shot, not something I would have thought to do - but they really do enhance the scene. The people give depth, like a FG and BG separation. very cool

This is a fine series, with excellent sharpness on the Fancy Garden sculptures.
I think we all enjoy reflections and this is just a little different!

Hi Kari,
Very nice street scene here. The modern art installation is quite interesting and you habve so skillfully used it to have multiple reflections and yet avoid the image of the photographer.
The couple passing by adds a nice romantic touch to the scene.
