Photographer's Note
Petite-France is an area in Strasbourg, Alsace, France.
It is located on the Grande Île (Main Island), where the river Ill splits up into a number of canals and cascades through a small area of medieval half-timbered houses and baroque sandstone buildings. In the Middle Age, the Petite-France was the tanning-houses and slaughterhouses area.
The name Petite-France ("Little France") was not given for patriotic or architectural reasons. It comes from the "hospice of the syphilitic" (Hospice des Vérolés, in French), which was built in the late fifteenth century on this island, to cure persons with syphilis, then called the "French disease" in German, Franzosenkrankheit.

Hello Derrick,
whilst the majority of the image is in shade you have to capture a great deal of detail in the very interesting buildings.
The picture is well composed and the light management is good.
There may be some dust spots on the sensor or lens as there are spots in the sky.
Best regards Les.

Nice street, with the climate.
but the graphic processing is too strong
in my opinion. In this technique, the boundary is very thin.
Unfortunately ...

Hello Derrick.
nice little square with the typical timbered houses, which remind me some of my youth's favourite toys, playmobil and the traditional houses.
You got a nicelly exposed photos thanks to the HDR technique you applied here, and although a little bit strong, I don't think it ruins the photo, only gives it a special feeling, specially because of the smoothness on the facades.
Cheers.

I fully agree with m00n. The HDR and postprocessing in general is a very appealing technique, but very often there is the tendency to exagerate. My opinion is that the postprocessing is necessary (I would say mandatory) in digital photography, but if it is the first aspect that is noticed when looking at an image, it means it is too much.
