Photographer's Note

La tempête nous plaque au sol.
Elle nous transforme en poussière.
Elle nous anéantit.
La tempête est plus forte que les hommes,
plus forte que les arbres,
plus forte que les idées.
Elle avale les pêcheurs, elle inonde les déserts, elle déracine nos certitudes.

Pour une fois je vos propose un petit travail de PP, même si ce n'est pas ma spécialité.
Désaturation - 70, teinte jaune + 10, Contrastes + 5, luminosité - 5, filtre netteté + 100.

For once I propose you a small work of PP, even if it is not my speciality.

Une composition superbe. Le noir-blanc est parfait.
Le plus incroyable c'est que tu aie réussi à avoir une parallèle entre l'arbre et le nuage qui forme une minitornade.

This is an excellent example of a perfect composition. Some dark part of the ground in the bottom makes the natural frame. Vertical but tilted by the wind element - the tree - makes the show and drammatic sky as a marvelous background. Few elements but rich and juicy photo. That's the way! Chapeaux bas, Bertrand!

Salut, Bertrand.
Celle la est vraiment des plus impressionnantes! On imagine sans peine la force du vent (ce qui est d'autant plus facile que l'on vient d'endurer ce type de meteo il y'a quelques semaines sous les latitudes qui m'hebergent actuellement). Ton travail de desaturation est graphiquement superbe et ne nuit pas a un contraste remarquable. Peut etre aurait-il ete interessant de pouvoir comparer avec l'original si tu l'avais poste en ws...

On dirait presque un cyclone (mais après avoir vu la version couleur, je pense que ce n'est qu'un effet visuel). L'arbre qui penche renforce cela, presque inconsciemment. Excellent PP. Superbe.

Bonjour, Bertrand. Tu as laissé une grande place au ciel et je pense que c'est un excellent choix car il est splendide. L'idée de tempête est bien suggérée par l'arbre qui plie sous l'effet du vent. Le contraste entre l'avant-plan et le ciel est très fort.

Greetings Bertrand. Whatever you have done in PP, it has had a spectacular effect on an already impressive composition. The sky looks, truly, as if it is falling. The silhouette at the bottom is a fine contrast to the texture of the sky, and the whole thing just says 'wind'. Fine choice of b/w in this image.

This shot has real impact Bertrand. I know a lot of people have already commented on it. but it just leapt out of your gallery at me.
What I really like here is how the shape of the tree is echoed in the clouds overhead.
The masterful black and white conversion adds to the impact; great high contrast with the tree nicely silhouetted against that stunning sky.

I have always admired charcoal painted-like photographs. The threatening whirls and twists in the sky are nothing but something that looks like a charcoal painting. What an exciting and wonderful POV you have got to get the tree and the tornado formation in that parallel angle! Hi Bertrand, this is a strong image as are the storms, the parallel of lines of tree and clouds is great, well seen and done, compliments, also to the good post-process, result have mysterious and fascinating atmosphere.

Sur la page d'accueil de TE ce matin, je tombe sur ton très beau thème des ciels en noir et blanc.
Ici, cet arbre courbé par le vent est magnifiquement mis en valeur. Il est très bien positionné dans l'image, en silhouetté. Un noir et blanc très agréable à regarder avec une belle variété des tons gris.
Excellentes photo et inspiration.

Je viens de surfer sur tes "best of" et c'est surprenant car il y a de l'humain partout, sauf en France!!
Belle composition, renforcée par le nuage qui semble parallèle à l'arbre penché, et dramatisée par l'utilisation du noir et blanc.
