On the Cotentin's north coast, the wind seems to never stop. It's strong, cold and noisy.
On the Cotentin's north coast, the sea is violent and raging.

Then you pass trough the cape and reach the West coast.

And the wind stops, the sea gets smooth. The contrast is incredibly evident !

Hi Stephane, there's indeed tranquility here and due to the mist and strong highlights in the back a touch of unrealness. Together with the well rendered textures and toned down winter colours it hints to he mystical side of this region. Very good.

la cote du cotentin est pas mal dentelée je ne la connais pas et je vais y faire un tour cet été, la couleur de l'eau est vert malgré un ciel de m...e, tu n'as pas eu de chance je vois, malgré ca ta photo rend bien.

Hi Stéphane, I like the PoV to see the coastline. Nice capture of the fog, which fused the horizon. Nice color contrast between the different colors in the water and between the water and the land. Nice composition and nice DoF.

Stephane, tu as réalisé une belle composition avec une mer verte et une côte des plus sauvage. Un décor pour tourner un épisode de Tintin en Ecosse ou sur l'Ile Mystérieuse. La lumière y est pour beaucoup dans cette impression d'isolement.

As you point out the contrast is amazing; this looks so tranquil compared with the other side. Another well composed sea-scape with the curves of the shoreline taking our eye through the image.

Hi Stephane
A well proportioned landscape with very atmospheric light. The hazy horizon gives this effect which delivers the impact. The colour of the sea is quite pleasing too, and you have caught the patterns in the water quite well. The landscape in the foreground has more colour than the landscape in background and this adds good contrast. Overall, a very good shot.

Hi Stephane,
A crisp clear shot of this calmer coast. The rich range of hues in the scene are subtly presented because of the low light and misty sky. Yet there is an alluring glow in the heavens and the shallower reaches of the sea. And, as Rob has noted, there is an interesting interplay between the green and brown rock tones. Well captured, Stephane. As always, you have captured a special mood.

C'est ici la partie la plus intéressante du Cotentin que j'ai visité en 1992.
J'apprécie cette vue sauvage et cette luminosité mélangée de brume.
