Arches Like Eyes!, a photo from Bretagne, West

Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

My photograph today shows a section of the Nantes/Brest Canal.

This particular section is at Bon Repos, near Gouarec.

By walking along the bank, I was able to get a shot of the bridge, showing the arches of the bridge and their reflections. You can also see the cascading waters of the weir, through the arches.

It really is a beautiful spot in Brittany. Nearby there is a lovely alfresco cafe which is very popular. I will show a glimpse of it in my workshop.

Fantastic capture with the bridge reflection, Beverley.
Vividly presented, managed this one even under the gray sky / low light condition.
a beauty one can't avoide taking its picture when apssing by.

Hello Bev,
The bridge is certainly the main attraction here, including its reflections and the view through the arches, but I also like how it is balanced - or complemented - by the old building. And of course the lush green surroundings add a lot of beauty to the view. It's almost like in the jungle! The WS is also nice, but despite the red parasols it feels less dynamic than the well balanced main photo.

Hi Bev,

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the bridge and of the house. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Bev,
Beautiful old stone bridge with arches. This river runs pretty deep between hills and green forest surrounds it completely. Old house on the left fits perfectly on this landscape.

A great photo from the side of this old stone bridge and its three arches, which look fantastic in combination with the reflections in the calm water. The green slopes make a great backdrop as well.

Lep refleks na vodi, stari most i zeleno drvece u pozadini, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspeketivom i uhvacenim trenutkom.

Hi Bev,
very well captured "eyes" of the bridge.
The reflection turned it into a lovely geometrical shape. One of photographers delights, it is so photogenic that it almost does not matter what else is in the frame.
Nice natural setting though with plenty of green color,

excellent use of these reflections in these two beautiful compos with the bridge in evidence. curious as we can see the water lift at side. the modern bridges has not the same poetry of these old ones.
here, because the war, the economic crisis is becoming worst..

An idyllic place that you show us in this wonderful composition, a beautiful bridge with those three arches that are perfectly reflected in the water, creating that circle effect, the environment with those wooded hills is ideal, the coffee that we see in the WS is in a great place to relax for a while with full relaxation.
Very effective color, which highlights the details of the image.
A good management, both of the luminosity, and of the sharpness.

English country-side never fails to amaze me. I have to say if I ever considered moving abroad it would be English rural area that I would consider as a possible place to live. Nature seems really close based on your photos.
