Hello Everyone,

This is a view of the lovely beach at Sainte-Marine.

Sainte-Marine is at the entrance to the bay of the Odet.

In the Middle Ages, Sainte-Marine's port specialised solely in the transport of wines from Bordeaux and Saintonge to the English Channel and the North Sea. In the 15th century, this community of fishermen was comprised of about twenty families.

The port is now mainly a coastal resort and marina. In the summer, a ferry takes you across the Odet from Benodet a bigger, more popular tourist resort, to Sainte-Marine. I will post a view of one of the ferries as a workshop.

Across the beach, you will be able to see a building with a pink facade. This is the "Abri du Marin" (fisherman's shelter). It has always been full of life (rope work lessons, library, meeting room and exhibition, meals for seniors, shows...).
It is now a museum and is open to the public.

I hope you get a feel for this lovely little coastal resort, Bev :-)

A beautiful place, Beverley, and they have a small beach strip to enjoy the calm bay water.
Picture is well allocated with good use of different objects, flowers added vivid scale to the whole.

Hello Bev,
This is such a well composed photo. It looks like being from a tourist pamphlet, which I do mean as a compliment. Flowers in the foreground, trees on the sides, a pretty little beach, a woman taking a photo while enjoying the nice weather, a row of very attractive buildings, a number of diagonals, perfect light and colours. You really found the right place at the right time of the day for this photo.

Lep pogled i trenutak, interesantan tekst ...
Lepo cvece, mala plaza i kuce na obali, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa posetiocima i oblacima koji dolaze.

A very scenic place with the picturesque houses on the quay, the small beach and the flowers in the foreground.
I suspect that the view to the right behind the tree is also very nice since someone takes a picture of it.
I like the composition, the soft tones and the pretty summer atmosphere.

Hi Bev,even if you don't remember if the ferry was smaller, there is no problem. I appreciate the effort for the WS..haha. And above all the main photo is really beautiful, a small village that smells of vacation and free time to spend in tranquility, very nice the view of the small beach and the old houses still well preserved. A classic seaside view ... the best of 'French Riviera' of the west coast.
This is a very charming little bay and the terraces to sit and enjoy with a glass of the famous wine 'Bordeaux'.

I think that you picked the best available POV to take this photo. The flowers in the fg. helps me to feel the depth of the scene. The woman taking the photo is a nice addition and of course the houses in the bg. are a nice finishing of the photo.

Indeed, this is a lovely beach and it actually has sand too, unlike the stony beach at Nice in the south of France. Hope you didn't get too badly hit by Storm Eunice, and seems south west England and Ireland copped the worst of it with London faring a little better. Tfs!

A beautiful composition with this small fishing village, everything looks very well cared for, with the flower beds in the foreground, the pleasant beach and in the background the line of beautiful typical houses of the region. It looks so calm that it gives us a feeling of relaxation.
Magnify the photo of the WS with the ferry.
Magnificent color that gives a lot of chromatic richness to the image.

What a charming view; it looks like it could be from a storybook. :-) The houses are lovely, and I like the flowers that are hanging on the stone barrier below them. I can imagine this spot in the 15th century, and it still looks idyllic. The small, blue boat is a nice detail, too. Take care!
