Photographer's Note

Seen outside a house opposite the church in the small village of Douzillac, a home made letter box with a bit of character.

Douzillac is a French commune situated in the département of Dordogne, Aquitaine region.

Located in the west of the département it is crossed by the river Isle, which forms the border with the neighbouring communes of Neuvic, Sourzac and Saint-Louis-en-l'Isle. The greater part of the commune is within the Forest of Double.

The highest point in the commune (167 metres) is to be found in the north-east in the forest at the place known as Portail Rouge (Red Gate). The lowest point (48 metres) is situated in the south-west where the Isle leaves the commune to flow into the neighbouring commune of Saint-Louis-en-l'Isle. The population in 2007 was 794 spread over an area of 17.17 square kilometres giving a population density of 46 per square kilometre.
