Stone Bridge, a photo from Aquitaine, West

Not a good weather to go out and take photos, so I use my archives to post on TE ...

Here is a photo of Pont de Pierre (Stone Bridge in english), token about 2 years ago on a week end in Bordeaux area. Pont de Pierre crosses river Garonne and is the link between left bank and La Bastide neighbourhood. It was built from 1810 to 1822 following a will of Napoléon 1st. The streams are strong in the river at that place, so it was a hard work to build the bridge ! The bridge has a length of 487 metres. It has 17 arches, the same as the number of letters in Napoléon Bonaparte ! Until Saint Jean bridge was built in 1965, it was the only bridge over river Garonne in Bordeaux. It was filed as historical monument in december 17th, 2002.

its always fun and a releif to sometimes dig into your personal galleries, at times we find gems we forgot about.
like this one. love the long perspective line, and at the end we have bright warm sunlight. it would be worth the walk!
elegant reflections too.

great shot, I like the way you composed the photo using long perspective here. Nice bridge and it's reflection on the water plus natural colors and good contrast make your photo interesting. Well done.

J'aime l'équilibre de cette composition. Ce pont de pierre et son reflet font une belle perspective qui va vers la lumière.
Une réussite avec en plus la grâce des réverbères !

Un sujet très graphique que tu as bien exploité avec cette belle diagonale, j'aime beaucoup la répétition des lampadaires qui renforce le graphisme et le reflet donne du volume à l'ensemble, bravo à toi!
