Inland navigation, on the CANAL du RHÔNE à SÈTE, canal from Rhône to Sète, in Villeneuve-Lès-Maguelone, between the ponds of brackish water of Arnal and Pierre-Blanche, near the Maguelone Cathedral.
The littoral ponds, depth of 1.20 meter on average, produce a great quantity of plankton and small animal organizations, which attracts fish of sea, the water birds of which pink flamingos. This resource is exploited with traditional means.

_The "CANAL du RHÔNE à SÈTE", goes from the Rhône, in Beaucaire, to the "Étang de Thau", pond of Thau, in Sète. Completed in 1811, it is the prolongation of the "Canal du Midi" builds in 1666.
This canal crosses the brackish water ponds, along the Mediterranean in the south of the area of Montpellier then the wet plains of the "Petite Camargue".

VILLENEUVE-LÈS-MAGUELONE is a French commune, located in the department of the Herault of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 8 161 Villeneuvois in 1999, distributed on 23 km², that is to say 323 hab./km².

Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone was a diocese listed in 589, which was transferred in Montpellier in XVIIe century, whose remainders of the cathedral are always in the site of Maguelone, between the ponds and the Mediterranean.

Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone has a sea front which extends on more than 9 kms and offers 1 a thousand of hectares of spaces lagunaires, of brackish water in which, the professionals fish sea-breams, eels, plates, bars (in french).

Hi Joel.
Somehow, I knew this was a jlbrthnn shot the moment it appeared on the screen. Maybe the light and the composition, combined with the fact it is in Languedoc-Roussillon. Perhaps your style, but the subject is a little different for you. The gentle winter light on the big barge is wonderful, and the angle of your composition makes a splendid use of the small wooden pier and boat in the shadows. Beautiful colour tones. Perhaps a small crop from the top, and clone to remove the post at the bottom? Just a thought! Very nice as it is.

The low winter light brings an air of mystery to this fascinating composition. I like the foreground silhouettes and the juxtaposition they make with the barge. The lighting is superb. A splendid piece of photography. Bravo!

Le bateau ou barge envoie mon regard vers l'horizon ce qui donne de la perspective et profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs du bateau. La lumière du soleil couchant donne de belles couleurs au ciel et à l'eau du canal. Bonne journée.

tu as choisi la plus belle des 3.Bien que la lumière soit aussi belle sur les unes que sur les autres,elle est ici particulièrement spectaculaire,car on a l'impression que tout est sombre,sauf cette partie éclairée du bateau.Magnifique!

You have captured a wonderful atmosphere here.
This barge illuminated by the golden and low sunshine is a very evocative subject and the long canal offers a fine perspective. I love the colours here and the mellow and tender feeling that this image conveys.

Une image très intéressante par son sujet et très belle par ses qualités avec notamment un angle de vue oblique qui permet de tire le meilleur parti de l'avanat-plan pour donner de la profondeur. Mais le principal attout de cette image est évidemment ce lagnifique effet de lumière très bien géré.

Trois superbes photo sur la vie qui se passe sur ce fleuve. Les lumières sont superbes et créent une belle atmosphère. J'aime beaucoup ta photo intitulée "une vue", l'image est très apaisante et tu as bien cadré le bateau, le reflet est très beau. Une belle gold série, merci Joël.

Bonsoir Joël,
cette si basse lumière du soleil crée un effet merveilleux, en illuminant avec des belles chaudes tonalités la barcasse et l'eau du canal.
La composition est très bien construite, la diagonale du canal donne un dynamisme élégant à l'image, et la douceur chromatique nous offre une jolie gamme de gris et quelques belles nuances argentées sur les éléments.
Un beau travail, mon ami, les WS sont aussi des belles photos.

Cette photo est très réussie avec la lumière sur la coque du bateau et les beaux reflets dans l'eau en mouvement. Le premier plan en contre-jour équilibre la composition.

Cette série a particulièrement retenue mon attention. Franchement exceptionnelle, notamment les deux autres photos. Tout me plait, le thème, la composition et surtout cette lumière! Une vrai réussite!

Came accross this fabulous scenery, in your gallery, Joel.
Fabulous golden tone prevailed, and gave a fine color to the relatively old barge.
Depth and clearity were collected well.
