Photographer's Note
It doesn’t have to be the most precious; it need not be the most expensive. You don’t even have to buy anything. But in case you do need to get something little to your friend or to your family members, this great little shop may help. This little shop is found at the heart of Paris, in one of the most beautiful galleys behind the Palais Royal in the second arrondissement, Gallery Vivienne and Gallery Colbert. Entering the gallery from the south end, this little but great bookshop is found at the end of the corridor. Among the new books, one could also find many charming postcards of Paris or antique books at reasonable prices. If your friend(s) is (are) or family members are with you, perhaps simply strolling about the gallery will satisfy your appetites. But especially at this time of the year, this old but beautiful bookshop is full of charming ideas. If coming to Paris is in reality not practical enough for someone, how about sending a small book on Paris instead? Friendly and accessible, this great little shop can be an additional destination for the very last minute shopping.

Bonsoir Nobu,

Hello Nobu,
Hanging around bookstores, whether strolling through or window shopping, is a theme we share. In a photo like this, I feel compelled to try to read all the titles, even if there is no chance that one of my books is not on display (and sadly it is not). I was not going to post a photo until next week sometime, but I've changed my mind after seeing your superb shot.
Warm regards, Nobu. Have a good weekend.

Ciao dear friend,
give or receive a book is always nice, is a useful gift that gives pleasure and happiness to children and adults. The reflected light in the window make us understand the Christmas time, a time of celebration and gifts that, as you say in the notes, It does not have to be the most precious and it need not be the most expensive. You have posted an image really suggestive and meaningful, with your precious and pleasant photographic style. At Christmas is customary to wish peace and serenity, and even if you practice another religion, this wish is for you too, sincerely and affectionately.
Ciao, have a nice weekend!

Dear Nobu,
this is one of the most unusual photos I've seen :)
First of all, I am impressed by lots of bright spots of light scattered across the picture (I presume, they are reflections of street lights in the window glass?). These light spots create a very jolly mood and produce a nice dynamic effect. Besides, the golden colour also creates a very cozy atmosphere :)
I would say, that this photo could be an excellent Christmas postcard!
warm greetings from Moscow all covered with snow -
and my very best wishes of a pleasant New Year holidays time!

Irresistible shop! I love the overall muted yellow tone which gives it the air of antiquity and the reflected lights. Yes, it could be a lovely Christmas card! One could browse here for quite a long time if the weather were frightful outside...

You managed the light reflection on the shop window's, like rain drops, but bigger...
I see some interesting books about Paris.
The composition is a wondeful idea applied.

Ciao mon cher Nobuccio-san
I am unsure whether you celebrate Christmas, after having spent so many years living abroad. But if you do, I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and wish you health, happiness and laughter in 2012. This photo looks very festive and of course is very Nobuccio-san-esque. Personally, I find your subject matter incredibly inviting and would definitely be tempted to buy something. Excellent light, a lovely effect with the reflections and of course the warm tones are just magical.
All the best to you and your dear ones, my dear friend

Hello dear Nobu-san
My first critique in the New Year...at least for me writing from in India.
The reflection of the lights for some reason gives me the impression of snow fall. You had taken this picture in December & hence it matches! Or may the reflections of lanterns they fly in the sky in some parts of the world. These reflection drops are what makes this shot so delightfully different, with the books on Paris as a backdrop
Best Regards Nobu-san from a quiet first day of the New Year (People are still to be awake after a night out I guess)

PS : May I invite you to see the image of Paris I posted a while back called New york Paris? When I posted that picture, the first person who I had thought of was you

Hello Nobu,
A fantastic place to spend the day without spending money. I like the array of books which are nicely displayed. The warm colors certainly grab the attention here. I like the way you have captured those lights . Looks like the snow flakes. Nice mood , colors and sharpness and very interesting notes.
