Photographer's Note

The castle belongs to the family Couterne Frotte since 1542, built by Jehan de Frotte chancellor of Marguerite of Navarre
It is located two kilometers from Bagnoles de l'Orne.
Its park covers twenty hectares.
An exhibition tells the story of the castle and the region, especially during the Renaissance and the French Revolution.

Un cadrage centré et soigné justifié pour ce type d'image.Ce château contraste bien avec son environnement sous cette lumière rendant ainsi parfaitement les textures.

Un bon cadrage aussi symétrique que le château à l'architecture attrayante. La lumière est peut-être un tout petit peu trop latérale, n'éclairant pas bien le centre de la façade?

looking at it, i'm trying to figure out what style of architecture this is...
I know its not gothic, its not baroque, is it neo-classical?...not sure
I do know i love the subject!
and i like the way the dirt road leads up to the castle. It would be great to get a walk inside!

Bonsoir, cher Didi,
Très beau château de la fin du seizième siècle avec ce très joli corps central et ses tours couvertes avec un toit en cloche, et ses deux ailes à un étage carré, plus comble à toiture pavillon.
Simplicité et élégance d'ensemble. Très bon cadrage symétrique.
Il est assez de rare de voir encore une famille occuper un château depuis sa construction !

Hi Didi,

You're capturing well this castle by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see a graceful medieval castle with symmetry. It's also harmonized and balanced well for color balance of the wall with brown, the roof with black and the window with white. And, it's good feeling for the courtyard/path and green lawn in front of the castle.
