Photographer's Note

This is an Ipomaea tricolor 'Midnight Blue' of the family "Convolvulaceae". This climbing plant comes from tropical areas and is generally much cultivated in Provence and Côte d'Azur too. This one is growing in my garden.

These ipomea "Clark's Heavenly Blue" are gorgeous climbers producing an abundance of fairly big (up to 8 cm across) flowers. However, each flower has a very limited lifespan, not even a day. Generally, they look good in the morning, tatty by midday and are goners by evening. Capturing them crisp and clear like these must surely have been a morning job.
PS remember to take seeds for next season, they are easy to grow ;-)
