it took us 4 hours walk starting from Pont d'Espagne to reach the Pourtet lake situated at 2420meters high. Unspoiled nature, only rocks and some snow plates, and only a few walkers with rucksack on the back.

Hello Claude,

I would love to hike there too if I was rewarded with such a gorgeous view. Rocks and lake with reflections, magnificent place. The hiker has a heavy backpack in attractive colours. I like walking but with lighter backpack and not so high. You were brave, congratulations!

Moi aussi !
Ca fait partie des lacs que je n'ai pas encore visiter . J'avais réservé une semaine à Cauterets en 2013 , mais j'avais du annuler à cause de la fermeture de la route .
Bien ici , avec ce randonneur et son énorme sac à dos orange .

I like the Pyrénées too! I've only been there in Summer, when, as your photograph amply demonstrates, the beauty is obvious. But in Winter there is a different and even starker form of beauty. I love this; the hiker with his orange rucksack adds the (necessary?) splash of vivid colour.

That backpack was the reward for your long trek. It is part of the important human presence and brightens the view enormously. The scenery itself is terrific and the small patches of snow are very nicely reflected.

Très jolie photo de ces massif qui se reflètent dans le lac. La lumière et les couleurs sont au top! Bien vu le randonneur avec le sac orange qui attire l’œil.

Belle déclaration pour ton attachement à cette région montagneuse, ta photo en est un bon témoignage, joli luminosité pour valoriser la vue de ce lac aux eaux calmes, parfait miroir, le randonneur fait un bon effet dans ce décor isolé, de plus la teinte de son sac s'harmonise bien avec les tons bleus.

I can see why you love them. This is such beautiful, unspoilt nature at its best. Wonderful vivid colours, textures and depth. The reflections are really something to behold and the lone walker adds interest aswell as a sense of scale. Excellent shot.

How nice to have found another trekker and one carrying a bright red/orange rucksack too - I presume that this was one of your group - and you have managed to catch him and perfectly place him in the frame to produce a finely balanced image.

The glorious warm sunlight, the distant mountains bearing little pockets of snow, the smooth lake with its beautiful reflections and the deep blue sky above all contrive to make this a very beautiful photograph and a lovely permanent memory of what sounds like a wonderful trek through the Pyrénées.

gotta love these hiking shots.
this one makes me want to get out there and explore a bit myself.

and as you mentioned in the note, its best when the area is so unspoiled by humans.

This is really worthy the 4 hour walk. Beautiful landscape still with some snow. The reflection is perfect on the water and the red rucksack is surely a fantastic detail. A very good composition!
