Photographer's Note
Yesterday, it was our January forecast all day trek (23km) even if the weather was horrible with rain falling during 3 hours. Around 30 persons participate, and as usual I carried my camera along with me AND my umbrella! After having taking pictures with some high ISO to get sharp image, I decided to go down to 100 ISO and try long exposure. This is one of the results while walking and sheltering at the same time(1 s and f27), it looks as an impressionism painting, that's why I put it in the "Oeuvre d'art" category.

Bonjour Claude,
I suspected this might be yours, before I read the name!
I really like it!
It reveals how close photographers are to artist. There is no limit to the subjects, the moods and the methods!
The fine composition complements the fine result.
This is truly Impressionistic and a very successful experiment!
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Claude,
Monsieurs Manet et Monet would be proud of you!
This was a very clever and innovative idea to use such a slow shutter speed on such a dull day but it has worked incredibly well! In fact, I wonder just how many pictures you took before you had this success - or did it work well first time?
The effect really is stunning and is very much in the genre of a true Impressionist painting, almost down to evidence of individual brush-strokes. I'm not sure if you boosted the saturation but the colours are wonderfully vibrant.
I love it!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. 23 Km is quite a long trek on a wet and cold day like this. I hope you found somewhere to stop for some food and a hot drink on the way.

Hello Claude,
Your experiment was very successful. Considering the colours and the number of people this would probably have been a good photo in any case, but with your innovative approach it really deserves the category of "artwork".
Kind regards,
Gert

salut Claude

Amicalement,
Gigi

Bonjour Claude
A bold shot, but I do see its appeal. It's as if the out-of-focus impressionist touch makes the walk even harder, as if we experience how miserable it must be in the rain...yet, at the same time find beauty in that!

Bonjour Claude,
The thumbnail made me open your photo right away!
I just love the effect, like a pastel drawing, such a smooth and atmospheric feeling.
I just wish you could have tried a less tight framing and placing the people a little off the center of the composition but even then... I would just love a print of it and hanging it in our living room.
Very well seen and achieved!
Amicalement,
Viviane

Salut Claude - or shall I start calling you "Vincent"?? ;-)
Except for the ubrellas, this really reminds of Van Gogh paintings. Impressionism at its best, hats off to your creativity!
Bonne dimanche

Hi Claude!
I guess you got a much better result than with the high ISO! Just perfect, the effect, the colours... looks like a nice painting.

Bonsoir Clodo,
your picture is artistic, lovely and delightful. We get the impression that it's raining, that the group is moving and that the colours are melting due to this weather. The quantity of the rain and the speed of the group don't make a fixed impression. I like the sense of depth and the mesmerizing effect created by so many hues and brush strokes. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania

Hi Claude,
The colours are stunning, considering that it was a rainy day. I like the effect, and your visualisation of the scene put into your shot.

May

Hello Claude
Sorry I missed this when you posted it. But it deserves recognition, as it's a very successful slow shutter image. Ansel Adams would abhor its pictorialism; me, I like it. Why not play around to achieve unusual effects?
Regards
Will
