Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
My intention today, is to show how the interior of Reims Cathedral is like a museum, instructing visitors about the restoration of this amazing cathedral, (seriously damaged during WWI), whilst they are enjoying the beauty of the building.
My main post gives an indication of the height of the columns and the ceiling, whilst revealing the information boards, detailing the restoration.
You will be able to see the brick details of the roof, something I don't think I have ever noticed in a cathedral before.
I will add some workshops to show closer details of the restoration information here and here .
I wish you a lovely day, from a cold but sunny Lancashire, Bev :-)

Hello Beverley,
I love the perspective down the church and the repetition of the columns and vaults. They look so fantastic and the lighting was amazing too and added a nice warm glow, which makes a good contrast with the more bluish tones in the lower half of the shot. Very well done!

Hello Bev,
Our photos, today next to each other, form a very special contrast and yet they have something to do with each other. As you can read about Koons' work in the text of the museum, he is inspired and uses techniques from the history of art.
Such a beautiful interior as here in the cathedral of Reims will not be made easily today, but I am sure that for many it is still a source of inspiration.
Excellent picture
Have a good week, groet Rob

Hi Bev
Great view along the row of arches - good colour and sharpness, although I don't think that the exposure time can correct. 30secs would have meant blurred movement.
Cheers

Hello Bev,
The repeating ceiling vaults make for an excellent long perspective. The many visitors give scale, allowing us to appreciate the height of the columns. Excellent light management with well rendered colours and detailing.

Hello Bev,
I probably said it before, that this is a magnificent cathedral. Otherwise I say it now. The elegance of these vaults and columns is hard to beat in any kind of architecture. As wonderful it is that we can see this cathedral today, looking so good, it is a bit disappointing to know that most of what we see was actually made after WW2. I wonder if they had detailed photos of every sculpture and every pillar so they could recreate them exactly as they looked before. In any case three excellent and informative photos, and this one has a wonderful light and spaciousness.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Beverley,
I like the repetition of the vaulted ceiling arches & the stray ray of light at the back. Good sharpness and the people provide scale and animate the scene. Tfs!

Bonjour Bev,
Elle est très impressionnante cette cathédrale qui a du subir à cause des guerres des blessures qui ne paraissent presque plus grâce au beau travail des artisans de la région. Ces clés de voutes à répétition sont magnifiques.
Amicalement

Hello Beverley, we really get a good impression of the height of the columns from this point of view. I like the arches leading us to the vanishing point of the distant window.
Your extra shots help us to appreciate the restoration that is taking place, I couldn't believe the work to restore the statue that you shared with us.
Thanks, regards Jean.

Hi Bev
ya, its pretty easy to see why you'd want to show us more of the interior - i love interior shots. what caught my attention right away are the different colors of the stone, or perhaps its just the lighting, not sure, but its visable. excellent depth, grande, lots of wow factor, especially if you're there. nice one. cheers

Ciao Bev
ecco finalmente anche l'interno di questa grande opera che sfida i secoli.
Le persone all'interno ci mostrano molto bene l'altezza delle colline e degli archi, impressionante.
La foto è ottimamente accompagnata dalle altre due foto del ws.

Hi Beverley
An interior architecture depicting its soaring beauty with immense detail and receding repeated columns and arches giving the sense of expansive depth and long perspective. People's interaction is another key success of this exquisite shot. I am impressed, Congrats

Hello Bev,
The repetition of pointed arches and the sheer size of this space are very impressive. The columns are gigantic, too! Cathedrals are always fascinating to visit; there's so much art and beautiful architecture. Nice presentation of this part of the interior.

Hi Bev,
spectacular interior indeed! You have spotted a nice repeated motif of the column and the arched ceiling.
People add a touch of reality and a measure of the scale.
We have a cold but sunny day in Teesside today too,
Have a lovely Sunday,

Hello Beverley,
In the WS we can see what a great thing restorers can do. It's almost unbelievable how good the sculptures have been restored.
What a wonderful perspective on your main picture!
A splendid presentation with excellent clarity and sharpness.

Boa noite, Bev!
O teto dessa catedral é bem fotogênico haha! A foto ficou realmente incrível, o padrão nele que vai ficando cada vez mais estreito resultou em uma composição legal de se ver. Bom enquadramento.
Muito bom!
