Photographer's Note
WIKIPEDIA: According to one legend Roland's Breach was cut by Count Roland with his sword Durendal in an attempt to destroy the sword, after being defeated during the Battle of Roncesvalles in 778.
It's an opening in the mountain 40 meters wide and 70 meters high, located at the altitude of 2804 meters.
I stopped at the gravel area not having crampons to walk on the glacier (at right) to reach the breach. I shall come back in September hoping not to hve snow.

Hello Claude,
It's an amazing mountain with a large part missing. It's a just as amazing slope of grey and white with the skiers as tiny focal points. A very strange but photogenic scenery and an perfect light to underscore its strange beauty.
Regards,
Gert

Salut Claude,

Hello claude,
This is spectacular scenery.
I knew there would be some figures somewhere, though not evident on the thumbnail.
Those figures are very important, to relay the scale of this beautiful scene!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
