Photographer's Note

1 the squirrel nibbling a pinecone
2 the squirrel has finished its meal... and presto, one leap and it's gone behind the trunk of the pine.
In our regions, squirrels are wilder and more discreet than in certain parks in North America in particular, where they are more accustomed to seeing people and therefore easier to observe and photograph... the photos were therefore taken at zoom, 400mm.

Interesantani i lepi pogledi, dobar tekst ...
Lepa veverica, dobro pokazana sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
Dobar rad, lepe fotografije.
Vresela i brza zivotinja.
Kod nas je ima u parku pored reve Morave.

I saw some of these red squirrels in Sweden and Poland. Good duo with excellent timing of the eat and run dining habits of this quaint animal. Tfs!

Hello Jean,
we have many squirrels in our parks, they are quite bold and eat nuts from a hand. Sometimes I have squirrels in my own garden, but rarely I have a camera ready. Charming pictures. Sharp as taken from a distance.

Salut Jean,la qualite' des details n'est pas le top mais je revien moi aussi depuis le parc en essayant de faite le meme avec ces animaux en chaleur dans ces jours printaniers,un beau collage avec couleurs brillantes. Belle journee' et merci,Luciano

Bonjour Jean,
Yes there is as difference between the squirrel species. Where I live now, there are just the grey American squirrels in the park and no more red squirrels. I think they try to reintroduce and promote the red natural species here but it does not seem to work. In Poland I remember the red one is native as well but as you said I do remember them being quite shy. To be honest I don't remember when I have seen the red squirrel last time while the grey species comes even to my garden.

Bonjour Jean,
J'ai aussi vu des écureuils assez apprivoisés dans les parcs urbains d'Europe qui n'ont pas peur de s'approcher des gens pour se nourrir.
Par contre, les écureuils où j'habite sont très timides et je n'ai jamais pu les prendre en photo.
Je pense donc que les deux photos ici sont très réussies.
