Photographer's Note

Fully painted church interiors can be expected in baroque or rococo churches of southern Germany.
This is St. Marien in Bergen on Rügen island, a romanesque brick basilica and the only fully painted church of northern Germany.
I did not disvcover the mysterious colours on the cross before I saw the photo. The only solution is that the cross is made of well polished steel which reflects the wall paintings.
