Photographer's Note
Miniature models and model photography are one of my interests. I just rarely get an excuse to upload those to TrekEarth. This time I hope there's enough TE content.
Shot on the traditional christmas market of Trier. Various models of old half timbered houses, churches and monuments are common objects that can be found for sale on the market booths on German Weihnachtsmarkt and apparently on the French side of the border too. And this must be Trier as there's Porta Nigra in the foreground.
Unlike other phone camera shots I have in TE, this time I had also Canon with me. Why did I use phone camera then? To get the DoF that the 4.5mm lens provides.
(This has at least three roof styles for the scavenger hunt.)

To me this is a good interesting post, all of this little model have fascinating appeal and the reproduction of the Porta of Tigra is excellent, good idea and image, compliments.

Terve Kari,
I certainly won't say these nice little houses are not attractive ;-)
Nice PoV and focus, I like how they seem to be floating on the clouds.
I wish you Merry Christmas and a good move into 2007,
Jean-Yves

An original view of these moedels of buildings and houses, although I was a bit surprise by the cotton around the buildings at first. In my opinion, the background is the best part, the buiding in the foreground beeing less interesting than the others but it was probably difficult to avoid it.
All the best,

Hello Kari,
I like the way you can show us typical German architecture with these lovely models. I like the close POV, and the way the houses and other buildingds rise up, as if sitting on an imaginary mountain. The fake snow is nice, too. :-) Happy New Year!!

For me your picture has enough TE content because it shows the typical architecture of the german part of the Mosel valley. Maybe the white stuff represents morning fog for you. For me it's the snow we missed this winter.
