Photographer's Note
This is at the metro station for the Acropolis in Athens. The Athens metro system was overhauled for the recent Olympics and this is one of the renovated stations. During excavation for the newer lines many antiquities were unearthed and are on display in the station near where they were found.

Hi Jennifer - metro's & subways can be good places to shoot B&W images, lots of dark areas, bright spotlighting & a variety of lines & edges that can aid the composition. The reflection of the strip lighting on the platform creates another set of lines that lead off to the far end of the station. The conversion to B&W emphasises the emty atmosphere of the place (together with a lack of people, apart from the one person at the other end).

I like it.
the grain is nice, the really dark subway is well seen, as well as all of the lines.
I love subways and this is a very nice one.
you might check out jinju he has done a bunch of subway stuff recently.

It looks as a zoom effect! Good compo, well contrasted, and B&W is a good idea to focus the attention
