Photographer's Note

The doors of the churches of Budapest are open all day. Often when you step in, you are witness to organ rehearsals or, as it happened to me last time, to quite otherworldly Gregorian chant recitals. Whether it is these or the palpable silence that shield you from the continuous stream of noise of the city outside, these churches are perfect places for introspection and prayer. This shot I took of an old lady praying behind the glass pane by the entrance of the Baroque Servite Church, built in the early 18th century, in downtown Budapest.
