Photographer's Note
Today I met my friend in our hometown, Vác to test his new Canon 450D. We also went down to the ferry station, to the bank of the river Danube. The ferry transports cars and people between Vác and the Island of Szentendre (to the town of Tahitótfalu). In this photo you can see the ferryboat on the other side.
Right after the man moved away from the lamppost, I also climbed up there and I found that place excellent for thinking and philosophing in the light. ((: That's why I gave this title to the photo.
Vác is a city in Pest county in Hungary with approximately 33,000 inhabitants. The town is occasionally known in Hungarian by the archaic names Vacz and Vacs.
Vác is located 34 kilometres north of Budapest on the left bank of the Danube river where it bends to begin its southern route. The town is seated at the foot of the Naszály Mountain on the outskirts of the Carpathians.
Vác is a commercial center as well as a popular summer resort for citizens of Budapest. The cathedral, built 1761–1777, was modelled after St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The episcopal palace houses a museum for Roman and medieval artifacts. The city is also known for its 18th century arch of triumph and for its beautiful baroque city center.
Settlement in Vác dating as far back as the Roman Empire has been found.
Bishops from the diocese were influential within the Kingdom of Hungary, with many serving as chancellors or later becoming archbishops.
The town was conquered by the Ottoman Empire in 1541. During the Habsburg Monarchy's wars against the Ottomans, the Austrians won victories against the Turks at Vác in 1597 and 1684.
The Island of Szentendre covers an area of 56 km˛, it's 31km long and 3,5 km wide (between Tahitótfau and Vác). There are fields, orchards and vineyards in the island, but several sheltered species of plants and birds live here.

Hi Marton, Wonderful light management & the reflections in the water are beautiful, the trees on the far side seem to pop out & ever though they are in the distance there is still nice detail, a great decision to choose B/W & the person to the left is a superb finish to the shot, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Szia Marci!

Szia Marcibacsi,
Nicely done with long time exposure and a nice camera, similar to mine. Brings back memories of Tahi where I spent a weekend with my buddy in his cottage in 2006. Oh, the beauties of the Danube! Koszi, Jancsi

Szia Marci!
Itt a fekete/fehér magától értetődő választásnak tűnik.

Hello Marci,
I think this one is more fascinating after opened it, the lightings are very well and i think b&w is a perfect choise for such kind of picture. Well balance composition with a guy sitting and of course the reflections on the water has give a nice effect to the picture. Very artistic shot and one of my favorite picture, thanks :-)

Hi Marci!
We don't see very often nightshots in b&w, but this is an excellent one! Great idea to convert it, it has created a beautiful melancholic feeling! Excellent composition and framing, perfect light managment! Congratulations!

Hi Marci,
Though I am a lover of the color, I must admit that on the B/W you have met a very interesting and intimate touch to this simple composition, in which the sat person, the lights that break the darkness, and its reflections on the water, work to a great aesthetic level.
Well seen, it is a strong and creative image.
Best regards,
Josep

Hát ez nagyon érdekes! :)
