Many asked me in my last post if I walked under the waterfall. I did, and so I post three more photos from the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Unfortunately the quality is not the best, difficult light, drops that wet the camera and a very slippery path, I hope they are enough to satisfy your requests.Seljalandsfoss is one of the best known waterfalls in Iceland.Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1 (Iceland) and the road that leads to Þórsmörk Road 249. The waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls and natural wonders in Iceland. The waterfall drops 60 meters and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull. One of the interesting things about this waterfall is that visitors can walk behind it into a small cave.

In molti mi hanno chiesto nel mio ultimo post se ho camminato sotto la cascata. L'ho fatto, e quindi vi posto altre tre foto dalla cascata di Seljalandsfoss. Purtroppo la qualità non è al massimo, luce difficile, gocce che bagnavano la macchina fotografica e cammino molto scivoloso, spero che siano sufficienti a soddisfare le vostre richieste. Seljalandsfoss, la Cascata Liquida, è tra le più note cascate dell'Islanda. È rappresentata in molti calendari dedicati all'Islanda e copertine di libri sul Paese a causa del suo aspetto inconfondibile e della sua bellezza selvaggia, in special modo quando coronata da un arcobaleno.
Il fiume Seljalandsá, il Fiume Liquido, cade per circa 60 m da ciò che in altri tempi era una scogliera sull'oceano (ora distante parecchi chilometri) e che oggi è il confine tra le Highlands e le Lowlands. Ai lati si inerpica un sentiero impervio che permette di arrivare dietro la cascata stessa ed ammirare il potente getto, come succede solo nelle fiabe o nei romanzi d'avventur

Dobar rad sa fotografijom u radionici, dobro uhvacen trenutak.

The reversed 'c' shape of the plunge pool nicely guides the eye around the image and the people provide scale and animate the scene. Good sharpness and the green grass contrasts well with the blue water. Tfs!

Another majestic view of big waterfall with the usual colors cast and fine allocation over the picture space.
Clear image and good scale with the people around and under the giant cliff.

Hello Luciano,
The waterfall is large enough to be impressive exclusively for its height and the amount of water, but what makes it special is that you can walk behind the wet screen. I don't imagine there are so many places where this is possible. You were lucky that some of the persons were dressed in red, which more quickly captures our attention. I suppose few visitors will refrain from that exciting experience, but getting soaking wet and maybe having the camera damaged is something you could honestly live without. ;-) Anyway, both WS are very good complements to this.

we can see the grass is very green because the excess of humidity of the falls so close of them. nice slice of the waterfalls with the people appearing small behind them. excellent. In iguassu falls the waters spent 100 years to spoil a meter of volcanic stone.

Nice capture of nature beauty and wonderful water movement but sincerely if you look carefully, there are hot spots without highlights hence distracting to a small degree. Overall it's still a nice catch nevertheless.

Nice trio of photos that show the view of the waterfall 360 degrees around it.
I wonder what this path looks like at sunrise - is it like Jokulsarlon at the time of Northern Lights, when tourists are brought in by the busload at midnight, or more like Thingvelir, where you can still find a place to put a tripod, no matter what time you arrive? I guess I need to check that next time. :-)

This must have been a great spectacle to observe and to experience, especially having to negotiate a very slippery pathway, whilst photographing!
There is some oe on the main photograph, but the w/s I find amazing! I'm so glad that you ventured under the waterfall, to share these exciting shots with us.

Hello Luciano!

A welcome detail from Seljalandsfossen, with some half wet people to show the scale. As far as I remember, both sons have been there in May 2019. Please continue you series, I'm curious what might come next.

Thank you Luciano for the informative pictures where you have come much closer to the waterfall.
Once again the presence of the people give us the scale of the falling water.
It must feel rather strange being behind the waterfall.
And as you say, the fear of getting water on the lens makes this a difficult task.

A good trio from the falls. The main one is truly spectacular and isn't the grass incredibly green.
Good photos from inside waterfalls are almost impossible to get so you did well getting the WS one from inside.

Ok, so now I have to check my photos as well hahaha, its like we're competing haha. I went in behind the waterfall as well, but it was in the winter and it was so cold, ice everywhere, and I slipped/fell. So many memories :) wonderful shot here, and I know what you mean by the water spray getting the camera wet, makes it SOOO hard to take photos here. Not to mention the very difficult lighting. this one came out very well, glad you posted it. cheers

Très photogéniques ces chutes et puis très original ce passage, bien tes vues en WS, bien aussi la vue des silhouettes qui donne une effet d'échelle à cette chute d'eau. On imagine que la balade s'avère sans doute un peu humide ...

A great shot of the waterfall focusing on the lower half and the green rocks surroundings it. The shapes of the falling water are wonderful as well. Very well done.

Eventually, I also saw the photo again that you had already posted in 2016.
Together with these three here we get unique views from behind the high waterfall.
It must have been a special experience.
According to your main photo we might think that the people under the rock can stay relatively dry but your note makes it clear that the walk meant an extra shower that day.
WS1 shows a surprisingly flat landscape on the other side.
I find the pic in WS 2 the most fascinating.
Splendid series on this special natural phenomenon.

Hi Luciano.
In this photo we can see very well the cavity of the rock towards the inside, which allows a relatively good passage behind the waterfall, although I think that the water droplets reach the people, ideally the intense green of the moss.
A fantastic photo, with beautiful natural colors, very good lighting and excellent sharpness.

very impressive set of photos. The waterfall seems huge and the setting offers a lot of interesting angles which you have very well used.
The main photo is probably the most spectacular and again the presence of people added a nice touch here.
