Catch a tourist being a tourist, but the horse - friendly - thought it was a cute photo chance.

The Icelandic horse is a breed of horse developed in Iceland. Although the horses are small, at times pony-sized, most registries for the Icelandic refer to it as a horse. Icelandic horses are long-lived and hardy. Seen here, tourists very much like them and the “selfie with horsie” is common. These horses can be seen all over Iceland and make for wonderful photos grazing in the colorful fields and hills. To keep the local stock hardy, Iceland is very strict on controlling outside contact with other horses. There are about 40 different colors and general patters among the local breed. Riding them is popular and it is one of the few transport ways to gain ground access to some unique and picturesque spots.

Looks as if he's all at it and you certainly didn't waste a great moment and perfectly timed. I like the tighter crop, juxtaposition and a little too excited in contrast to that such a cool friend! How carefully the shot has been planned and executed. A happy soul obviously enjoying his holiday.....

David, thanks for your critique. The tourist is capturing a photo souvenir with the horse. Icelandic horses are a horse breed very resistant to the sub polar conditions existing in Iceland. What beautiful animal! Good memory

Hello David,
An excellent photo of the man posing for a selfie together with the horse. The horse didn't seem to mind to have his picture taken at all. Good horizontal composition.
