Photographer's Note

Thingvellir National Park is a wild and unique landscape that is really worth the trip. Nowhere else on earth you can say that you were able to drive or walk from North America to Europe as there is a path that takes you down through the gap in the continental tectonic plates. The park also includes Lake Thingvallavatn and a picturesque volcanic landscape. The geological impacts of glacial and volcanic activity are truly remarkable and worth some exploration. It's no wonder that the park was named as one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites in 2004.

Salut Jean,
Vous avez trouve un bon point de vue un peu plus eleve pour nous montrer ce paysage dans des tons de blanc et de bleu clair.
Une composition attractive des surfaces de neige, de la glace et de l eau dans leurs differentes formes.
J ai essaye plusieurs fois a charger mon texte en utilisant des accents aigus ou des lettres avec un autre accent ou c etait necessaire. Depuis quelques jours TE refuse les accents ... Alors un texte sans accents :( ... Quel monde!

Beautifully understated with its subtle colours, shimmering reflections and clear tones. The bare shrubs and trees prevent the landscape looking completely desolate. The crispness of the photo is lovely.

Hello Jean,

The country is living up to its name Iceland!
This is a beautifully taken shot, clearly showing the patchwork of ice and icy water, inter-related, with areas of soft snow or reflected sunlight.
The sparse trees add contrasting textures and shapes, whilst the b/g hill creates the depth.

Hello Jean,

I like the minimalist colour, the superb reflections in the icy pools, and the repetition of patterns and shapes such as the oblong and rough circular pools. The blue white grey and black colors go well together. Excellent sharpness and well framed and composed. The snow capped peaks top right add a distant focal point. Tfs.

It seems you have a weak spot for white landscapes.
This plain is truely beautiful and special. The geological aspect is mentioned by yourself in the note. Also from a historical POV is it special, as the vikings used it for meetings and as a kind of parlament. It was a sort of democracy.
Your photo is very well composed and the colors are amazing. It's a pleasure to look at.
