Photographer's Note
I saw this beautiful frozen star on the black pebbles of the Djupalonssandur beach.
Djúpalónssandur is a sandy beach and bay on foot of Snćfellsjökull in Iceland. It was once home to sixty fishing boats and one of the most prolific fishing villages on the Snćfellsnes peninsula but today the bay is uninhabited.
Four lifting stones are in Djúpalónssandur, used by fishermen to test their strength. They are Fullsterkur ("full strength") weighing 154 kg, Hálfsterkur ("half strength") at 100 kg, hálfdrćttingur ("weakling") at 54 kg and Amlóđi ("Useless") 23 kg. They were traditionally used to qualify men for work on fishing boats, with the Hálfdrćttingur being the minimum weight a man would have to lift onto a ledge at hip-height to qualify.
On the beach there are remains of the Grimsby fishing trawler Epine (GY7) that was wrecked there on March 13, 1948. [Source: Wikipedia].
I am still fighting with the flu. Where is the strong Emka?? She disappeared somewhere.

Hello Malgo,
The frozen start fish looks beautiful against the blue-grey pebbles. Very nicely captured with excellent colours and clarity. Flu can be very debilitating and last for some weeks. Take care, I am sure you will be back on form soon.

Hello Malgo,
The shadows gave a bluish tone to the pebbles and contrast by the sea-star in red.
I never saw such a star on nature - only in museums or aquarium.
Have a nice new week,
Ike

Hello Malgo, another topclass capture and TE entry in your gallery. This is what I often use to say "the beauty of simplicity". Perfect sharpness and very good graphical effect.
TFS and best regards

Beautifully spotted, Malgo. The red vs ice blue makes a great contrast. It might have been even better fully in the shade. Still, great as it is as well, of course. Cheers & thanks for showing this one.

Hello Malgo,
It's not just the star fish that is beautiful. The surroundings also make this a fine natural composition of red and blue and yellow and nicely shaped stones.
I wish you again a speedy recovery.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Malgo,
I'm sorry to hear you're still ill. This is a wonderful photo, a really artistic composition with amazing colours and light. The blue and yellow go very well together and the red starfish stands out perfectly.

Hello, Malgo!
So even the starfish gets frozen in such a cold environment! But it still has strong colors that make it stand out beautifully in the image! Very nice colors and sharpness! Beautiful job!

Hello Malgo,
Hope you're feeling better. I got the flu in Alba Julia in February 2017 and I didn't feel like moving for 2 months, so I know what it's like. The red starfish contrasts well with the blue shadowed stones. Tfs!

iceland is a very great contrast with senegal and gambia.
nice this detail of the starfish lost in the frozen pebbles. a pity the area illuminated with sunlight directly, not easy to get perfection in such very different conditions of light. but the result is nice anyway.
take care

Dear Malgo,
A starfish is not a thing you would expect to see on Iceland. :) Anyway, its red colours stand out well from the blue environment.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Malgo, nature on the beach, and I see this as an abstract picture. Your tight composition works really well, and we can appreciate all the textures. The red starfish was 'the icing on the cake'! It completes this lovely picture.
Best wishes Jean.

Hello Malgo,
It looks a bit like an abstract work of art whereby the red starfish attracts our attention. Very nice in combination with the bluish tones of the pebbles and the rock.
A beach where there is clearly something to discover.
We can see that there was a strong sunlight that moment.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Malgo,
The poor starfish provides the only warm color on a freezing day. I wonder if starfish can survive freezing.
Regards,
MT
