Látrabjarg is the westernmost point in Iceland and the largest bird cliff in Europe. Birds are lured here by the infinite rocky outcrops which, protected from the northern winds, are perfect for nesting. And humans come for the sheer spectacle of so many birds in one place.

The Atlantic puffin breeds in Iceland, Norway, Greenland, Newfoundland and many North Atlantic islands, and as far south as Maine in the west and the British Isles in the east. The Atlantic puffin has a large population and a wide range. It is not considered to be endangered although there may be local declines in numbers. On land, it has the typical upright stance of an auk. At sea, they swim on the surface and feed mainly on small fish, which they catch by diving underwater, using their wings for propulsion.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_puffin

Hello Trevor,
puffin with so many pretty colors is very charming object for photography. You made great job capturing it in your lens. The tight framing in here is an excellent choice and I have to admire great sharpness and attention to details. The composition gains a lot from couple of wild flowers added in the corner. Lovely colors, superb clarity and very pretty rich colors.

even these locely birds are not very wild , this is a superb capture of this one , with the flowers , the deep blue sea in then BG , and a great use of the DOF .

Trevligt att se dig tillbaka här, och med en så otroligt vacker bild. Lunnefågeln är fantastisk i sina starka färger och med sin runda kropp och du hade en väldig tur som fann den i så vacker miljö. Du har lyckats dela kompositionen fint med en diagonal, med en grön del nedtill och en blå upptill. Detta är kanske dagens vackraste bild på TE.

Les macareux sont de merveilleux oiseaux et ta photo nous montre bien celui-ci dans toute sa beauté. La qualité d'image est excellente avec de superbes détails. Une belle présentation dans un beau décor fleuri. Ici nous pouvons en voir beaucoup sur la basse Côte-Nord du fleuve St-Laurent.
