Photographer's Note
Baily Lighthouse. Howth Head, Dublin. Completed 1814 - built high on the headland.
This picture required an early 5 am start as I wanted to catch the sunrise. A big gamble here in Ireland with there being every chance that you wouldnt see the sun at all. A drive out to Howth from Dublin city is about 20 minutes at that time in the morning. I've used a 5 second exposure here which has resulted in the nice pink tinge to the sky.

Hi Kev,
I love low light photos. You have done well with this 5 sec exposure. Lighthouse is perfectly placed and the sky is just lovely.

Trevor

Hi Kev. A most admirable result, worth the 5am start. The pastel colours are lovely to look at and the lights of the little lighthouse and of the towns across the water make the image enchanting. well done. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Kev
Really nicely done here. If it were not for your note, I would never at first glance believe that this were Dublin. Sometimes I forget how beautifully positioned Dublin is with such a wonderful landscape of sea and mountains, and you present that perfectly here. The lighthouse is perfect, and that sky is beautiful, but I really love the low lights of the city sprawled around. I love Dublin, and I really love this shot, classic. Really well done, and thanks for sharing. Now I'm itching to try this myself, except I am useless at long exposures!
All the best
Noel
