Photographer's Note
By the 18th century, Kilkenny Castle had become run down, reflecting the failing fortunes of castle owners, the Butler family. In the 19th century, the Butlers then attempted to restore it to its original medieval appearance, rebuilding the north wing and extending the south curtain wall. The Picture Gallery was built to the north wing by the architect William Robertson and was constructed on earlier foundations.

Hello Kari,
I wouldn't pay much attention to the boring paintings, but the room is attractive and enabled you to a photo with very nice depth. I like the red walls and the beams and arches and the light streaming into the room from different directions. The people create a lively view and especially I like the silhouettes in front of the windows at the far side.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Kari
Who Kilkenny? (Sorry, I couldn't resist). That line appeared in every South Park episode. Terrific linear perspective and well managed low level interior lighting. Good sharpness and the people add scale. Tfs!

Hi Kari,
Great reportage from Kilkenny. The color of the interior is amazing and you captured is so well. The asymmetric composition works very well. I like the person with the camera there, it adds a nice touch.
Excellent work,

Hello Kari,
I didn't have time to visit the castle itself when I was in Kilkenny. This picture gallery looks great, especially with those red walls and the beautiful wooden ceiling. Well captured also with good lighting.

Hello Kari, Nice view of the big hall of this gallery and an interesting ceiling, like in church but with the glass windows in it. There are so many portraits! I visited 13 museum in my recent visit in london, I exaggerated a bit, sometimes i was tired.
Best regrads MAlgo
